A new television anthology series, starring a slew of popular K-pop singers and entertainers, looks to breathe some life into the waning "Hallyu wave."
The 10-part omnibus series currently in production boasts a who's who of popular Korean singers in a coalition that can be best described as a Hallyu brat pack.
Nemo Story, the production house in charge of the drama, said the series, tentatively titled "Superstar" will feature Kim Hyung-jun of SS501, Shinhwa's Jeon Jin, Son Ho-young of G.O.D., with additional guest appearences by Bae Seul-ki, ex-Baby V.O.X. member Shim Eun-jin, Ahn Jae-mo, Lee Tae-sung and Seo Ji-young.
Four of the ten episodes have wrapped up filming with the opener helmed by feature director Lee Chul-ha, who directed Moon So-young in 2006's "Love Me Not."
According to the producers of the series, "We've secured contractual agreements with Thailand and Japan to air the anthology and we're currently in negotiations with broadcasters in China and Taiwan," and added "our goal is to have it go on air here in Korea sometime at the end of the year."
